On the evening of Saturday 9th February Miles-Moore Ceramics  had the pleasure of hosting a fundraising event at Brathay Hall, Ambleside.  We also made the formal announcement that we honoured to be their first Artists in Residence, for more that thirty years, and from April we will be based in their creative workshop space.

The fifty people attending Bowls of Resilience raised over £1000 for the great work this dynamic charity undertake. Tickets entitled every guest to a bowl of amazing soup, courtesy of our friend Chef Ryan Blackburn ( The Old Stamphouse and Kysty)  an array of sandwhiches, cheese and biscuits a welcome drink. At the end of the evening guests could take their own bowl home with them.

Three lucky raffle winners had the opportunity to throw a pot with Martin. There was a blind auction and one lucky winner took home one of Siobhan’s pieces.

The whole evening was organised by Brathay’s amazing Kirby Linton. Brathay is set in superb grounds and we stayed over to enjoy the luxury and amazing scenery.

We are looking forward to this exciting new era.We will still be doing everything we currently do, working with chefs, taking commisssions and making teabowls.

What we will be doing in addition to that, is working with Brathay to help them, and their service users, build creativity into their resilience and leadership development journeys.
