Description
This unique piece was handbuilt by Siobhan Miles-Moore in the Miles-Moore Ceramics Studio at Brathay Hall in the beautiful English Lake District. Siobhan calls her spherical and semi spherical forms Microcosms, because all of them represent wider stories or responses. They explore perspective, encouraging us to consider internal and external surfaces and our favourite view of this intersection. This piece inspired by the fabric produced at Farfield Mill is deorated with slip containing stone from Yorkshire Lancashire and Cumbria and incised. The interior is gilded with tin.
